Need a hand?

Spend a few minutes clicking around and you'll work it out in no time. It really is that basic. If not, the answers below should cover it.

Do the people I share with need an account?

No. Anyone with the link can get in straight away. No account, no password, no app to install.

What access can I give?

When you share a file or folder, you set it as read only or write. Read only means people with the link can view and download. Write means anyone with the link can upload, download and delete.

Can people send files to me?

Yes. Share a folder with write access and anyone with the link can upload files straight into it. Handy for collecting files from clients, suppliers or a group, without anyone signing up.

Is a write link risky?

A write link lets anyone who has it delete files as well as upload them, so share write links carefully, only with people you trust, and use read only when people just need to view or download. Links expire after 7 days by default, which limits how long a write link stays open.

Do links expire?

Yes, by default. Shared links expire after 7 days, so no shares are left open forever. If you want a link to stay open, you can set it to never expire.

Can other people use my account?

Yes. You can give other people access to your account. It is all or nothing: they get full access to everything except billing and account info, or no access at all.

How much does it cost?

You can start free with 1GB of storage and a 100MB download pack, no credit card required. After that, storage is $3.85 USD per 100GB per month, and download packs are $3.85 USD per 20GB. Uploads are free.

Why is pricing in US dollars?

Because that is what our infrastructure costs us. We only charge you for what we get charged for: storage and downloads.

Can I drop storage I no longer need?

Yes. You buy storage in 100GB monthly blocks. If you don't need it next month, drop it. If you need more, scale up.

Will downloads be slow on the cheap option?

No. Every download is delivered at full speed with no throttling. Always fast, never throttled.

Is it right for sensitive files?

Basic Cloud Storage is built for non-sensitive files, where simplicity matters most. Anyone with a link can open it, so keep sensitive material somewhere designed for it.

Where are my files stored?

Data may be stored on servers in Australia or overseas, with reputable infrastructure providers. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

Should I keep backups?

Yes. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but we can't guarantee against loss, so keep backups of anything important.
